Introduction

Pharmacy is a multidisciplinary field that has evolved through the integration of disciplines such as Chemistry, Biology, and Medicine. Its history suggests that it has grown from the need to develop and deliver safe and effective medicines for the treatment of diseases. Similarly, Biotechnology has emerged from the convergence of biological sciences and technological advancements. Both fields require a comprehensive understanding of molecular processes and their applications in healthcare. Thus, it is essential for educational systems to include Pharmacy and Biotechnology to equip students with the knowledge required to thrive in these industries.

Introduction of Pharmacy and Biotechnology in Education

CBSE has introduced Biotechnology as an elective subject for Classes 9, 10, 11 and 12 to give students the opportunity to delve into advanced biosciences, including genetic engineering, molecular biology, and pharmaceuticals. Our school offers both Pharmacy and Biotechnology courses as electives, providing students with a strong foundation in healthcare and life sciences. These subjects open up vast career options in industries ranging from pharmaceuticals to bioinformatics.
